1. The events took place in the mountains of Tennessee during the American Civil War. He was known for being a notorious and feared guerrilla in Tennessee. He was tried for the murders of 53 people. He was convicted of war crimes and sentenced to hang in October 1865. Who is he?

Answer: Andrei Chikatilo

Chikatilo went to trial on April 14, 1992. During the trial he was kept in an iron cage in the center of the courtroom. He once said he had cleansed society of worthless people. On February 14, 1994 he was executed.

Answer: Dr. Harold Shipman

Shipman is the only British doctor found to be guilty of murdering his patients. Other doctors suspected of murder have been prosecuted for other crimes. Some fabricated stories of her crimes have led to comparisons with Vlad III the Impaler of Wallachia (fictional Count Dracula) and to modern nicknames of the "Blood Countess" and "Countess Dracula". Her date of death is unknown.
5. The "chessboard killer" supposedly wanted to kill 64 people for the number of squares on a chessboard. He was found guilty of 48 murders and confessed to 63. Who was known as the "chessboard killer"?

Answer: Alexander Pichushkin

This guy was sick. He asked a Russian court to add an additional 11 victims to his body count (supposedly wanting to surpass the murder total of Andrei Chikatilo, 52 murders) , bringing his claimed death toll to 60. During the trial, he, like others in Russia, was housed in a glass cage. It took the judge over an hour to read the verdict of life in prison with his first 15 years in solitary confinement.
6. He was known in the 1970s only by his crimes. He was convicted in Utah of kidnapping an 18 year-old. He escaped from prison twice, and after the second escape he became known as Chi Omega Killer. Some people think he was a "deliberate stranger". What is the name of this infamous killer?
