1. Name the fourth person in this quartet: Matthew, Mark, Luke and...?

Answer: John

The first four books of the New Testament Bible are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, also known as the Four Gospels.
2. Who is the person that completes this foursome: George, John, Thomas and...?

Answer: James

The first four presidents of the United States were George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison.
3. Who completes this group: Ozzie, Harriet, Ricky and...?

Answer: David

Ozzie Nelson was a popular band leader in the 1930's. He married Harriet Hilliard who sang with his band. They began performing on radio and shifted to television in the 1950's. Their two sons David and Ricky joined them on the TV show, a popular sit-com called "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" which ran until 1966. Ozzie died in 1975, and Harriet disappeared from the show biz scene, dying in 1994. Rick, who had been considered a "teen idol" continued his music career, but died tragically in a plane crash in 1985 on his way to a New Year's Eve performance. David continued his involvement in show business as a producer.
4. Who, of the following, belongs with this elite group: Mother Teresa, Mikhail Gorbachev, Nelson Mandela and...?

Answer: Lech Walesa

The group of four who all won the Nobel Peace Prize are Mother Teresa in 1979, Mikhail Gorbachev in 1990, Nelson Mandela in 1993 and Lech Walesa in 1983.

Walesa was a shipyard worker in communist Poland who began organizing the workers and, despite opposition and even imprisonment by the central government, eventually gained the right for shipyard workers to organize into a non-communist trade union in 1980. He rose in power and influence and became the face of the Polish Solidarity Movement in 1981. Communist crackdowns forced him underground, but with the collapse of the former Soviet Union, he was elected President of the Republic of Poland in 1990 and served until 1995.
5. Who is the fourth person to complete this group: George, Laura, Barbara and...?

Answer: Jenna

George and Laura Bush have twin daughters, each named for one of their grandmothers: Barbara Bush and Jenna Welch. George W. Bush is the son of Barbara and George H. W. Bush, so he is not a "junior."
6. In terms of the Academy Awards, who else belongs in this group: Sean Penn, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman and...?

Answer: Jack Nicholson

Jack Nicholson belongs to this elite group of two-time Best Actor winners. He won the Best Actor Award for "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" in 1975, and "As Good as It Gets" in 1997. Peter O'Toole's nomination for "Venus" in 2007 was his eighth without ever winning, more than any other actor had suffered. Jimmy Stewart was nominated five times and won once in 1940 for his performance in "The Philadelphia Story".

Henry Fonda was nominated in 1940 for his performance in "Grapes of Wrath," and again in 1982 when he won at age 76 for his swan song appearance in "On Golden Pond."
7. Who completes the foursome: Biden, Cheney, Gore and...?

Answer: Quayle

The four (Joe Biden, Dick Cheney, Al Gore and Dan Quayle) all served as Vice President of the United States. The others (Lloyd Bentsen, Jack Kemp and Tom Eagleton) were all unsuccessful candidates for Vice President. Eagleton was only the VP candidate for 18 days.

He failed to inform presidential candidate George McGovern that he had been hospitalized three times for depression including two rounds of electroshock therapy. When word of this leaked out, he withdrew his name for the sake of party unity. Sargent Shriver was selected as his replacement, but it was to no avail as Nixon won in landslide in 1972.
8. Between 1969 and 1971, drugs contributed to the untimely deaths of these famous 27-year olds. Which name completes the quartet of unintended members in an "exclusive" club: Brian, Jimi, Janis and...?

Answer: Jim

Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison are members of the "Forever 27 Club". All four died at the age of 27 of drug overdose or mysterious circumstances most likely related to drugs. Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide at age 27 in 1994, is also considered to be a member of the club. A full listing of the "Forever 27 Club" can be found at http://www.forever27.co.uk/27/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=47&Itemid=59.

Jayne Mansfield was 34 when she died in a car accident, Marilyn Monroe was 36 when she died of an accidental drug overdose, and Anna Nicole Smith was 38 when she died of drug intoxication.
9. Who else belongs in this group: Dag Hammarskjöld, Kofi Annan, U Thant, and...?

Answer: Boutros Boutros-Ghali

The four (Dag Hammarskjöld, Kofi Annan, U Thant and Boutros Boutros-Ghali) all served as Secretary-General of the United Nations. Boutros-Boutros Ghali only served one term, from 1992 to 1996. During his service, almost a million people were killed in Rwanda through acts of genocide, and thousands of Muslims were killed through ethnic cleansing in the former Yugoslavia.

The UN was considered to be impotent and ineffectual in both of these cases. Boutros-Ghali's second term was vetoed by the United States.
10. Who is the next person who belongs in this series: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and...?

Answer: Alexander Hamilton

Persons on US currency are George Washington on the one-dollar bill, Thomas Jefferson on the two-dollar bill, Abraham Lincoln on the five-dollar bill, and Alexander Hamilton on the ten-dollar bill. Andrew Jackson is on the twenty-dollar bill and Benjamin Franklin appears on the 100 dollar bill.

The largest bill printed by the US treasury is the one-hundred dollar bill. At one time, five larger denominations were printed, up to one hundred thousand dollars, but all large denominations were discontinued in 1969.
