Even if you push it gently, the table will at some point break free of the obstacle. When this happens, all things not bolted down will be tipped over or knocked about to some degree. Pulling the table while lifting the leading pair of wheels over the problem area will alleviate the issue altogether.

Answer: Drink leftover mimosas when picking up the morning's dirty dishes.

However delicious, mimosas are not to be imbibed whilst on the job. No, no, no!

Between courses at nice restaurants, a waiter will often scrape or brush the crumbs off the table with a small brush or flat-edged metal scraping utensil known in the food service industry as a "de-crumber". Since room service is limited to dropping off and picking up food orders, de-crumbers are unnecessary.

I have personally witnessed the failure of each wrong answer.

I have been asked for stranger things than a pedicure while on the job.

Answer: Salt and pepper

Cutlery is not a condiment. Butter goes with bread, not eggs. Ketchup is available upon request, but not required. Some waiters pile whatever they think the guest may want onto the table, so that they don't have to make a second trip if a special request is made.

This may seem smart, but once the table is picked up from the room, the unused condiments have to be wiped off and returned to wherever they are kept. If every order had a bunch of re-work involved like this, a small army would be needed to do it all properly.

Answer: They have many provocative stories to tell

It's the eternal question posed to each room service waiter: "Wow, you must have seen some crazy things, huh?" The answer is, no. We all want to have a good story, but most guests are well behaved. It's a big disappointment to hear, I know. The most common occurrence worth mentioning is guys not covering themselves up to open the door. Yuk.

Answer: Re-work

Having to wipe off a truckload of condiment containers every day is extremely boring. But having to run back and forth for guest requests can also pose a problem during busy times. As with many things in life, it is impossible to get everything right all of the time.

Answer: The sorting out of an order's contents once it has been eaten, picked up and brought back to the room service area.

I wish it was the baseball bat option. I really do. I'd stand in line to break down tables in that manner.
