Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Find the match for the daughter of Laban, as per Genesis 29:16.

Answer: Leah

Leah was the oldest daughter of Laban while Rachel was the youngest. Scripture tells of Leah and Rachel both being married to Jacob. Rachel, however, was the one Jacob loved and Leah was involved in a loveless marriage. The only reason Jacob married Leah is the fact he was tricked into doing so by Laban.

For details see Genesis 29:15-30.
2. Find the match for the daughter of Bethuel, as per Genesis 22:23.

Answer: Rebekah

Bethuel was the father of Rebekah, as per Genesis 22:23. Scripture goes on to tell of Rebekah marrying Isaac and giving birth to the first set of documented twins in the Bible -- Jacob and Esau. Bethuel was also the father of Laban, whose two daughters would end up marrying Jacob.
3. Find the match for the daughter of Jethro, also known as Reuel. (Exodus 2:21)

Answer: Zipporah

Zipporah was the daughter of Jethro, also known as Reuel. Zipporah ended up marrying Moses and becoming the mother of Gershom and Eliezer, as per Exodus 18:3-4. Scripture states Moses killed an unnamed man in Egypt and he fled to Midian where he met Zipporah.

Scripture states Jethro/Reuel had seven daughters in total, but Zipporah is the only one who is named.
4. Find the match for the daughter of Poti-Phera, priest of On, as per Genesis 46:20.

Answer: Asenath

Asenath is the correct answer. Scripture tells of Asenath marrying Joseph and giving birth to two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. However, not much is known about Asenath as she is mentioned in passing reference.

Poti-Phera is known as Potiphera in NIV and Potipherah in KJV.
5. Find the match for the daughter of Jacob, as per Genesis 30:21.

Answer: Dinah

Scripture tells of Jacob being the father of twelve sons but only one daughter, Dinah. The thirteen children were born to Jacob by two wives, Leah and Rachel, and two concubines, Zilpah and Bilhah. Leah was the mother of Dinah, as per Genesis 30:21.

Practically all of Chapter 34 of Genesis is devoted to an account of Dinah being defiled by Shechem with her two brothers, Simeon and Levi, going on a vigilante killing spree.
6. Find the match for the daughter of David, as per 2 Samuel 13:1.

Answer: Tamar

Tamar was a daughter of David, as per 2 Samuel 13:1. Scripture tells of her being raped by her half-brother Amnon. Ahinoam's mother was Maacah while Amnon's mother was Ahinoam. Later, Absalom, a full brother of Tamar, would kill Amnon, as per 2 Samuel 13:19-29.
7. Find the match for the daughter of King Saul, as per 1 Samuel 14:49.

Answer: Michal

Michal was the daughter of King Saul and the wife of David. Saul was the first king of Israel and David was the man who replaced him indirectly as king. According to 1 Samuel 18, Saul told David he could win Michal's hand in marriage if he could produce one hundred Philistine foreskins. David responded by producing two hundred foreskins, much to Saul's disappointment. Saul despised David and by asking him to produce one hundred Philistine foreskins he was hoping the former shepherd boy would be killed in his pursuit.
8. Find the match for the daughter of Caleb, as per Joshua 15:16.

Answer: Achsah

Achsah was the daughter of Caleb, one of twelve men commissioned by Moses to spy out the land of Canaan. According to Joshua 15:16, Caleb promised the man who could successfully attack Kirjath Sepher would win Achsah's hand in marriage. The winner of Achsah's hand was Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb.

Scripture goes on to tell of Caleb giving Achsah ownership of a field and two springs of water.
9. Find the match for the daughter of Job, as per Job 42:14.

Answer: Jemimah

Jemimah is the correct answer. She was one of three daughters born to Job in his later years. Earlier, Job had seven sons and three daughters, none of whom are named, perish in a windstorm that toppled the house they were in. On top of this, Job ended up in deteriorating health and lost all his wealth. Through his trials, however, Job remained faithful to God.

Afterwards, job had his health restored, became twice as wealthy as before, and became the father of seven more sons and three daughters. (While the sons are not named, Job's daughters, in addition to Jemimah, were Keziah and Keren-Happuch.) According to Job 42:15, "in all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job."
10. Find the match for Jairus' daughter, as per Luke 8:40.

Answer: No name is given

No name is given for Jairus' daughter who was miraculously raised from the dead by Jesus. Details about the miracle are found in Matthew 9:18:26, Mark 5:21-43 and Luke 8:40-56. According to Mark 5:42, the girl was twelve years old. The passage in Mark states Jesus simply uttered seven words to the dead girl before she became back to life: "Little girl, I say to you, arise." To the amazement of everyone, she did just that! Peter, James and John -- three of the original Twelve Disciples -- were on hand to see Jesus perform the miracle.
