Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water. Then heaven was opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and lighting on him." This is found rather obviously in the New Testament (NIV), but which verse specifically?

Answer: Matthew 3:16

With Jesus as the subject of this verse, it really was limited to being one of the Gospels. And with John 3:16 off the table, you had a decent chance at getting this one. John showed full reverence at Jesus' request to be baptized by him. He even claimed it should have been the other way around. But Jesus said it should be so to fulfill all righteousness.
2. "Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, "King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter." This sixteenth verse of a third chapter of the Bible is a crucial part of a very hot story from the Bible. What verse of the Bible (NIV) is this?

Answer: Daniel 3:16

In the early part of the book of Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar haains him high esteem from the king. When Daniel receives a high position, he also asks that his friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego come with him. But the turn towards idolatry that King Nebuchadnezzar orders the people to obey was beyond what the three would do, and they were thrown into the fiery furnace. Seeing them come out unharmed, Nebuchadnezzar praised the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
3. "...the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. 4. "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters."
