The Italian Andreas Seppi was seeded 31st while Marin Cilic was seeded 30th, and Russian Dmitry Tursnov was seeded 26th. Belgium's Steve Darcis was not seeded but played like one in the 2nd round against the 9th James Blake. Unfortunately though, Darcis had to retire at the stat of the 3rd set.
