Adelaide United finished first at the end of the regular season as minor premiers, but did not make the Grand Final (they were knocked-out by Sydney FC). Melbourne Victory finished the regular season in second last place (7th out of 8 teams).

Archie Thompson scored 5 goals in a 6-0 win over Adelaide United.
