Unfortunately for Danny Vukovic, he actually did come close to playing for newly promoted Konyaspor in Turkey. However, the club after signing the player realised they had too many internationals on their books, so they released him. He returned back to the A-League with Wellington Phoenix and became the first goalkeeper to ever score a goal in the A-League with a penalty against the North Queensland Fury.

Jedinak and Djite both started the season as part of Genclerbirligi, but Djite was released to return to Australia with Gold Coast United. Both Carle and Troisi had played for Genclerbirligi in the past, with Carle leaving in 2008 for English side Bristol City, and Troisi joining another Turkish side, Kayserispor in 2009.
