1. What was the team that became AFC Bournemouth called, when they were formed?

Answer: Boscombe

Boscombe FC were formed in 1899, and entered the Bounemouth and District Junior League. In 1923, they changed their name to Bournemouth & Boscombe, and it wasn't until 48 years later in 1971, when they became known as AFC Bournemouth.
2. Where did the club first play as their home ground?

Answer: Castlemain Road

Upon formation, the club played at Castlemain Road, and moved to Kings Road in 1902, and stayed there for 8 years until a local businessman named J.E. Cooper-Dean, leased a piece of land next to Kings Road, on which they built Dean Court, named after the benefactor, where they played until moving into the Fitness First Stadium in 2001.
3. Who was the club's first manager?

Answer: Vincent Kitcher

Kitcher managed the club between 1914-1923.
4. Which of the following players once scored 9 goals in a game for the club?

Answer: Ted MacDougall

MacDougall scored 9 goals in an 11-0 victory over Margate, in the FA Cup first round on 20th November 1971. In 1973, he signed for Manchester United and played there for one season, before moving on to a host of other clubs.

Bournemouth finished as champions of the then third division, in season 1986-87 with 97 points from 46 games. This was the only time in the 20th century that they were champions of any division.
