England has won the fourth test in each of these series. In 2001 England won by 6 wickets as Mark Butcher scored 173* in the second innings. England won by 12 runs in 1998/9 when Dean Headley took 6-60 in the second innings. In 1994/5 Phil DeFreitas scored 88 off 95 balls in the second innings to help England to a 106 run victory.

In all these cases, the match was a dead rubber anyway. In 1986/7 England won by an innings and 14 runs, thanks to excellent bowling from Gladstone Small and Ian Botham, to retain the Ashes.
