Yaz played in 3,308 games behind Rose's 3,562 appearances. Yastremski was one of those loyal players who played his entire 23 season career with the Red Sox.

In 1935 the Tigers won their first World Series ring. They had been in 4 previous World Series and could not come up with the Championship. This time under the manager's eye of Mickey Cochrane, the Tigers beat the Chicago Cubs 4 games to 2.

Greenberg hit the plateau only one time in his career in 1938 with the Tigers by hitting 58 dingers. In only 13 Major League seasons, 12 with Detroit and his final in 1947 with the Pirates, he hit 331 home runs.

The Phillies had enough and farmed him out for almost nothing to the Padres in 1995 where he was 8-3 and continued to pitch for San Diego for another year and a half when he was sold to St.Louis where he finished out the 1997 season and his career with a 0-4 record for the Cardinals.
