1. What Chicago Cubs catcher drove in eight runs in one game in 1980?

Answer: Barry Foote

This was the Cubs record for most RBI's in one game. Nate Colbert set the single day record with 13 in a 1972 doubleheader.
2. Who was the last National League player to hit over .400 in the 20th century?

Answer: Bill Terry

His average was .401 in 1930 with the New York Giants.
3. What team did Vic Willis win 89 games for, from 1906 through 1909?

Answer: Pittsburgh Pirates

After being traded from the Boston Braves of the National League, Willis did this for the Pirates. He retired in 1910 after being traded to the Cardinals.
4. Which one of these pitchers did not win 20 games for the Cleveland Indians in 1952?

Answer: Bob Feller

All of them where the "big four" pitchers for the Indians in the 1950's. Feller managed only a record of 9-13 with the Indians. Cleveland finished 2nd in the American League that year.
5. Who served up Hank Aaron's first Major League homerun?

Answer: Vic Raschi

Raschi dished this one up in 1954 while pitching for the Cardinals, giving Aaron his first with the Milwaukee Braves, and Major League baseball. Jack Billington served up his record tying 714th homerun.
6. Who set a Major League record with 19 sacrifice flies in one season?

Answer: Gil Hodges

Gil did this for the 1954 Brooklyn Dodgers. He also provided 10 the following year.
7. What team lost 23 consecutive games in 1961?

Answer: Philadelphia Phillies

In 1961, they finished 47-107 under the helm of Gene Mauch.
8. What did Christy Mathewson call his pitch that today is referred to as a screwball?

Answer: Fadeaway

The screwball is one of the most difficult pitches to hit. Mathewson played with the Giants from 1900-1916 and retired with 373 wins.
9. What New York pitcher won a record 41 games in 1904?

Answer: Jack Chesbro

No one as even came close to breaking this record in the 20th century. With set-up pitchers, closers, etc., in today's baseball, this feat will be a tremendous one to touch by anyone.
10. Which of the following pitchers was first to strike out 300 or more batters in one season?

Answer: J.R. Richard

J.R. did it in 1978 with the Houston Astros by striking out 303 batters. He struck out 313 the following year. The Astros finished 5th in the National League West in 1978. Belinsky's tops was 145 with 1962 Angels, Bunning's top was 268 with the 1965 Phillies, and Drysdale K'd 251 batters in 1963 with the Dodgers.
