The Bambino played his last season with Boston in 1935. He passed away on August 16, 1948 in the city that he made famous and made him famous, New York City.
2. How many different franchises did Pete Rose play for throughout his career?

Answer: 3

Pete who set many records played for the Reds from 1963-1978, then from 1979-1983 with the Phillies. In 1984 he played with the Expos before being traded back to the Reds for the latter portion of the season. In 1986 he retired as a Cincinnati Red after a 24 season career.
3. What team did the great Cy Young begin his Major League career with in 1890?

Answer: Cleveland Spiders

Young began his career with the Spiders of Cleveland of the National League in 1890. He was 9-7 in his rookie season. In 1899 he played with the St.Louis Perfectos where he went 26-16 until two years later when he played with Boston and was 33-10. He retired with 511 career wins over 22 seasons with a season high of 36-12 in 1892.
4. What 1980 Chicago Cub led the team with the highest batting average for the season?

Answer: Bill Buckner

Buckner batted .324 that year and was the only regular Cub to hit over .300.
5. What slugger led the 1986 California Angels in home runs to the Division Championship?

Answer: Doug DeCinces

DeCinces hit 26 dingers for the Halos that year. Reggie Jackson was their Designated Hitter in the 1986 season and hit 18 home runs.
6. In the 22 season career of Gaylord Perry, which of the 8 teams that he played for, did he spend more time with?

Answer: San Francisco Giants

He spent 10 seasons with the Giants from 1962-1971, only 3-1/2 seasons each with the Indians and the Rangers, and a few amongst others. His only post-season appearance was with the Giants in 1971 for the NLCS against the Pirates.

Wilver 'Pops' Stargell was always a Pirate who was adored by many Pittsburgh fans. He played for the Pirates for 21 seasons from 1962 to 1982 and retired with 475 home runs. He passed away in April 2001.

Answer: Greg Pinchbeck
