CU is located approximately 45 miles northwest of downtown Denver in beautiful Boulder, near the Flatiron Hills. The Buffs are the two time defending Big XII North football champs, and they won the whole league in 2002. In 2003,they were also in the NCAA Hoops tournament for the first time since 1997.

Colorado State University is located approximately 60 miles north of Denver. They play in the Mountain West conference, and are reigning champs of both football and basketball in 2003.

The USAFA is located just north of Colorado Springs, and the chapel on campus is widely visited by people across the country and the world. The Falcons play in the Mountain West conference. Adams State is located in Alamosa, about 50 miles southwest of Colorado Springs. They play in the RMAC, and are winners of the 1998-1999 Sears Cup.
