A-Rod's 57 led the Major Leagues in 2002. His 52 that led the American League in 2001, was overshadowed by Barry Bonds' record-setting 73. This power hitting shortstop was in his 9th season in 2002.
2. Kirby Puckett played his entire baseball career with what team?

Answer: Minnesota Twins

None of the other teams existed when Puckett was a rookie in 1984. Puckett played for 12 seasons with the Twins, retiring in 1995. This 10-time American League All-Star, had a lifetime batting average of .318, and hit 207 home runs.

Answer: Cleveland Indians

Jacobs Field opened on April 4, 1994. Its seating capacity was over 43,000 in 2002. After its inaugural season in 1994, the stadium saw the Indians win the American League with a 100-44 record in 1995, 34 wins more than the previous year.

A-Rod was the only American Leaguer listed. Along with his Majors leading 57 home runs, he hit 142 RBIs and batted .300. This all-around player won a shortstop Gold Glove in the season also.

Always the hustling one, Pete played for 24 seasons in the Majors with the Reds and Phillies, along with a partial season stint with the Expos. He was the 1963 National League Rookie of the Year, and the 1973 season MVP.
10. Who did Cal Ripken replace at third base, to begin his consecutive games played streak, breaking Lou Gehrig's record?

Answer: Doug Decinces

The other listed, never played for the Orioles or in the American League. Decinces had played with Orioles from 1973, until Cal Jr. came around in 1981. Decinces went to the Angels for the 1982 season. Ripken began his career at third base for Baltimore, before being moved to shortstop. Ripken Jr. retired in 2001, after playing in 3001 games.
