Answer: By being elevated to the top of their qualifying group because Yugoslavia was disqualified when war broke out

Denmark qualified because Yugoslavia were excluded due to the outbreak of war. Yugoslavia had finished top of their qualifying group, but when they were excluded, Denmark were elevated to group winners and then went on to win 2-0 against Germany in the final.

He was born on 23rd June 1976 in Dakar, Senegal, but his family moved to France when he was only eight years old. He made his debut for France against Holland in 1997.

It was the first time the holders of the World Cup were knocked out in the first round (aka as failed to progress out of the group stage).

They won 1-0 against Argentina in the final. It was the last World Cup that the Germans played as a divided nation. After this, West Germany and East Germany were re-united and played as Germany.

Answer: AC Milan

The winning goal of the first-ever Champions League final was scored in the 44th minute by Basile Boli of Marseille. Because of a match-fixing scandal at the club which followed their win, Marseille were relegated to League 2 in France, so were unable to defend their champions league title.

They were the first French team to be crowned Champions of Europe (European Champions Cup/European Champions League)
