With an amazing career that lasted from 1966 until 1993, Nolan Ryan is considered by most baseball aficionados to be one of the greatest pitchers in the sport. When he held an official record of 106 mph. he was unofficially reported to have actually thrown a pitch that measured 108 mph.

At his retirement, Ryan was the only pitcher to have pitched in Major League Baseball in four different decades as well as pitching to seven different pairs of fathers and sons. The other three options were pitchers for the Atlanta Braves in the 1990's.
