1. There are three major categories of moves for figure skating. What are they?

Answer: jumps, spins and field movements

Here are some examples of jumps: salchow, toe loop, loop, lutz, flip.
Here are some examples of spins: layback, sit spin, camel spin,
back spin. And some of the field movements: spread eagle, inna bower,
spiral, footwork.
2. When doing a layback spin, there is a specific rule, that you may only lay back 2 body parts, or else you might get injured. What are those 2 body parts?

Answer: head and foot

When doing a layback spin, you bring your foot and head back, and
bring your hips to the front, and don't try and force your arms on top
of your head, because you could get injured, just leave your arms
there and they will automatically go up.
3. Every single triple jump is formed with a take off, and then three rotations in the air?

Answer: False

Most of them are like that, exept for the triple axel, which is three
and a half rotations in the air.
4. Which of the following is a spiral?

Answer: bend forwards, lift your leg so that it is higher than your head, looks like an arabesque

A spiral is an arabesque, and you can do a spiral on a right inside
edge, a left inside edge, a right outside edge, a left outside, a
backward right inside, a backward left inside, a backward right
outside and backward left outside.
5. Which part of your foot are you supposed to stay on while doing any kinds of spins?

Answer: ball

If you spin on the ball of your foot, your spin will be much better
and will last longer.
6. The best way to learn how to skate properly is to watch others on tv?

Answer: No

The best way to learn how to skate properly is to get lessons from
a coach, and go practise at your local arena. Practise, practise,
practise.
