1. Which of these Welsh footballers spent the majority of his career at Liverpool, becoming a legend in the process?

Answer: Ian Rush

Ian Rush represented Liverpool in two separate spells from 1980-1987 and 1988-1996. A short spell at Juventus would be sandwiched in between this, with the Welshman famously complaining that he could not get used to life in Italy because "it was like living in a foreign country".

His 346 goals for Liverpool would make him their all-time goalscorer. Rush was also the Wales record goalscorer until Gareth Bale would best his 28 goals in 2018.
2. Brazil scored 18 goals in the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Who scored 8 of them to win the Golden Shoe, awarded to the top goalscorer in the tournament?

Answer: Ronaldo

One of the true all-time great strikers, Ronaldo would lead Brazil to their fifth FIFA World Cup title, scoring two goals in a 2-0 win against Germany in the final. The Brazilian didn't just make headlines with his goalscoring exploits, but with his haircut too. Ronaldo revealed that everyone was talking about his injury heading into the tournament, so he shaved his head but left a triangle, so people would talk about his wacky hairstyle instead.

Batistuta would score 54 goals in 77 appearances for La Albiceleste, since bested by one of the greatest footballers of all time, Lionel Messi.

Wayne Rooney broke through at Everton, becoming the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history at the age of 16 yrs 10 mths after scoring the winner against Arsenal. Rooney moved to Manchester United in 2004 and would stay until 2017, winning five Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League in his legendary stint for the Red Devils. Rooney would rejoin Everton for a season in 2017.
9. Who came top of Group C in the 2018 FIFA World Cup?

Answer: France

France topped the group with seven points from three games. They would eventually go on and win the tournament, defeating Croatia 4-2 in the final.
10. Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard have both represented which international football team?

Answer: Norway

Erling Haaland shot into the spotlight in 2019, scoring 29 goals in 27 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg which led to a move to Borussia Dortmund in 2020. Martin Odegaard made his international debut at the age of 15 in 2014 and would move to Real Madrid in 2015.
