Answer: Richard Petty

Richard Petty came up with the idea to keep driver's arms from flying out the windows during a crash.
5. Who developed the roof rail to foil airflow over the roof, to prevent the car getting airborne?

Answer: Jack Roush

Jack Roush developed this air foil to keep from having the restrictor plate diamater changed at Talladega and Daytona. Roush Racing built the first roof rails (prototypes) in 1993.
