As well as being a dominant pitcher, Foster also managed and formed the Negro National League in 1920.
2. Formed in 1885, which was the very first black professional team?

Answer: New York Cuban Giants

The Cuban Giants and all of the early teams were independent until the first league was formed in 1920.

Even though the Negro National League folded, the Negro American League continued until 1960.
