1. Who won the Brownlow medal in 1990?

Answer: Tony Liberatore

Tony Liberatore was a very small but very quick player for the Dogs, and was the 8th Bulldog to win the Brownlow. He retired in July 2002. Scott Wynd won the Brownlow in 1992. The first 7 Bulldogs to win the Brownlow were llan Hopkins 1930, Norm Ware 1941, Peter Box 1956, John Schultz 1960, Gary Dempsey 1975, Kelvin Templeton 1980, and Brad Hardie 1985.
2. What is the name of the Bulldog mascot?

Answer: Woofer

Woofer is the proud Bulldogs mascot. The club changed their mascot from the Tricolours (the club colours are red, white and blue), to the Bulldogs in 1938.
3. When did the Western Bulldogs first play in the VFL (AFL)?

Answer: 1925

The Western Bulldogs (or Footscray then) were established in 1880 but first played in the VFL in 1925. They were a a member of the VFA from 1883 to 1924, and won 9 premierships 1898-99-00, 1908, 1913, 1919-20, 1923-24.

The Whitten Oval used to be named the Western Oval until Ted Whitten retired. Since his career had been such a big success the Bulldogs committee decided to change the name of the oval to the Whitten Oval.
