Answer: Port Adelaide Power

Port Adelaide Power joined the AFL in 1997. The club was founded in 1870 and were quite successful in the SANFL (South Australian National Football League), winning 36 flags. They won the AFL Premiership in 2004 when they belted the Brisbane Lions.

The team's mascot is Tommy 'Thunda' Power, and their colours are silver, teal, black and white.

The Richmond Football Club was founded in 1885.

They made their first Grand Final appearance in 1919, losing to Collingwood. However, they made up for this loss by beating Collingwood in the 1920 Grand Final, securing their first Premiership.

The team's mascot, Tiger 'Stripes' Dyer, is named after Richmond legend, Jack Dyer. Their team colours are yellow and black.

Founded in 1902, Hawthorn joined the AFL in 1925.

It wasn't until 1961 that Hawthorn won their first AFL Premiership, beating Footscray (Western Bulldogs) by 43 points. Ten years passed before Hawthorn were awarded their second AFL Premiership, beating St.Kilda by seven points.

The team's mascot, Hudson 'Hawka' Knights, is named after Hawthorn legends, Peter Hudson and Peter Knights. Their team colours are brown and gold.

Founded in 1859, the Demons are the oldest AFL team.

In 1900, they defeated Fitzroy, claiming their first Premiership. In 1926, Ivor Warne-Smith won the club's first Brownlow Medal. The Demons went on to win the 1926 Premiership.

Founded in 1874 and formerly known as the South Melbourne Football Club, there was a name change and the club moved to Sydney in 1982.

Their biggest Premiership triumph came in 2005, when they defeated the West Coast Eagles by four points. It was their first Premiership in 72 years and also the first since the club's relocation.

The team's mascot, Syd 'Swannie' Skilton, is named after South Melbourne legend, Bob Skilton. Their team colours are red and white.

The St. Kilda Football Club was founded in 1873.

They played in their first Grand Final in 1913, losing to Fitzroy by thirteen points. Twelve years later, in 1925, Colin Watson won the club's first Brownlow Medal.

Premiership success finally came in 1966 when St. Kilda defeated Collingwood by one point.

The team's mascot, Trevor 'Saint' Kilda, is named after St. Kilda legend, Trevor Barker. Their team colours are red, white and black.

Founded in 1869, North Melbourne joined the AFL in 1925, despite objections from their main rival, Essendon. Both teams had supporters from the same area.

They defeated Richmond in the 1903 Grand Final and, in 1965, Noel Teasdale won the club's first Brownlow Medal.

The team's mascot, Barry 'Brooser' Cracker, is named after North Melbourne legends, Barry Cable and Peter 'Crackers' Keenan. Their team colours are blue and white.

Founded in 1883 and formerly known as Footscray (the name was changed in 1996).

Allan Hopkins won the club's first Brownlow Medal in 1930, however, Premiership success didn't come until 1954 when the Bulldogs defeated Melbourne by 51 points.

Founded in 1990, Adelaide is one of the youngest AFL teams.

In round four, 1997, Adelaide played against their cross-town rivals, Port Adelaide, in the very first Showdown. They lost by eleven points, but later went on to win their first Premiership, defeating St. Kilda by 31 points.

1998 saw back-to-back Premierships with Adelaide defeating North Melbourne by 35 points. Mark Ricciuto won the club's first Brownlow Medal in 2003.

The team's mascot, Claude 'Curls' Crow, is named after Adelaide legend, Neil Kerley. Their team colours are red, yellow and navy blue.

In 1996 the Fitzroy Lions and Brisbane Bears merged to form the Brisbane Lions.

They won their first Premiership in 2001, defeating Essendon by 26 points. In the same year Jason Akermanis won the club's first Brownlow Medal.

In 2002 Brisbane were Premiers again, this time defeating Collingwood by nine points. They would go on to defeat the Pies again, this time by 50 points, in the 2003 Premiership.

The Collingwood Football Club was founded in 1892.

They won their first Premiership in 1902, defeating Essendon by 33 points.

Collingwood were at their most successful in the late 1920's. In 1927 Syd Coventry won the club's first Brownlow Medal. The Pies went through the entire 1929 AFL season without losing a single game and in 1930 they won their fourth consecutive Premiership.

The team's mascot, Jock 'One Eye' McPie, is named after legendary Collingwood coach, James "Jock" McHale. Their team colours are black and white.

The Carlton Football Club was founded in 1864.

Their first Premiership came in 1906 and Bert Deacon won the club's first Brownlow Medal in 1947.

121,696 people attended the 1970 Grand Final when Carlton played their arch rivals, Collingwood. Despite being 44 points down at half-time, Carlton staged an amazing come-back, kicking seven goals in fifteen minutes to win the game by ten points.

The team's mascot is Captain Carlton and their team colour is navy blue.

The Fremantle Football Club was founded in 1994 and joined the AFL in 1995. So far they haven't won any Premierships or Brownlow Medals.

Founded in 1859 and formerly known as the Pivotonians, Geelong are the second-oldest AFL club.

Following multiple losses in the early 1920's, a local cartoonist suggested the club needed a black cat to give them some good luck. During a match played a few weeks later, a black cat wandered onto the ground. Geelong won the game and from then on were referred to as the "Cats".

In 1924 Edward Greeves won the club's first Brownlow Medal and they received their first Premiership in 1925.

The team's mascot, Slammin' Sam Tomcat, is named after Geelong legend, Sam Newman. Their team colours are white and navy blue.

Founded in 2009, the Gold Coast Suns became the AFL's newest team.

Their first game in Round two, 2011, ended with a humiliating 119 point loss to Carlton. They would go on to lose to both Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs before finally securing their first win, defeating Port Adelaide by three points.

The team's mascot is Sunny Ray. Their team colours are red, gold and blue.
