1. The Magpies of the VFA: Formed in 1865, and wearing a black and white striped jerseys, this inner Melbourne club was who?

Answer: Brunswick

Also known as the 'Potteryworkers', Brunswick joined the VFA the year after the VFL broke away from the association.
2. Which team wore the red and black and was known as the 'Dreadnoughts', until it was disbanded in 1922?

Answer: Essendon 'A'

Essendon 'Association' originally played their home games at Windy Hill in Essendon, while the more famous Essendon 'VFL' side played at East Melbourne ground. When Essendon VFL side move to Windy Hill, Essendon 'A' disbanded.
3. Known as the 'Citizen' and wearing maroon and white, which team exsisted for only two seasons and did not win a game?

Answer: Melbourne City

Melbourne City was not very good. In the 36 matches that they played in the VFA in the early 1900s, they never won a game.
4. Wearing blue and white hoops and known as the 'Bears', who was kicked out of the VFA in 1987 after forfeiting their last game?

Answer: Caulfield

Towards the end of their exsistence, Caulfield was probably more famous for their after-game entertainment at the 'Bears Den', than any performances on the field.

Part of the VFAs expansion was to take their league to the outer edges of Melbourne, but the local players and supporters weren't interested, and Traralgon went back to playing in the local league.

Known as the brickfielders because of the number of brickworks in the district.

They originally wore a red with white monogram, but reversed colours upon joining the VFA to avoid confusion with Preston who had the same colours.

While Albert Park was never gone as a team, their colours continued on to this day in the Sydney Swans guernsey.
