Ivanisevic was previously runner up at Wimbledon in the years 1992, 1994 and 1998. 1994 saw his career high when he was ranked number 2 men's singles tennis player in the world. He retired from professional tennis in 2004.

Answer: Monica Seles

Monica Seles had won eight Grand Slam singles titles before her 20th birthday and was ranked number 1 in March 1991. She was stabbed during a match against Magdalena Maleeva while taking a break between games. She did not return to playing professional tennis for another two years but she was unable to maintain her previous form and retired in 2008.
