Answer: Chicago Cubs

The Cubs went to three consecutive World Series from 1906-1908, winning the latter two. The Blue Jays won back-to-back World Series in 1991 and 1992. The Marlins hit paydirt in 1997 against the Indians. The Angels won their first World Series in 2002 against the Giants.
2. Which of these Hall of Fame greats did not wear the number 44?

Answer: Ernie Banks

Banks wore the number 14 in his 19-season career with the Cubs from 1953-1971. Ernie was runner-up for the Rookie of the Year Award to Wally Moon of the Cardinals. 'Mr. Cub' hit 512 home runs with a season high of 47 in 1958. He won two NL MVPs in 1958 and 1959. Ernie played in 2528 games in his career, but unfortunately never saw a World Series.
3. From 1999-2002, pitcher Randy Johnson won four consecutive National League Cy Young awards. Which Dodger broke that streak and won it in 2003?

Answer: Eric Gagne

The others were all retired long before. Gagne went only 2-3 in the season, but had 55 saves. His 55 saves tied the record of John Smoltz of the Braves in 2002. He recorded eight saves at the end of 2002, then adding his 55 in 2003, setting a record for most consecutive saves with 63.

Alston only played in one game in 1936 with the St. Louis Cardinals. That was it for his playing career. He later took the helm of the Brooklyn Dodgers for over 20 seasons. He guided the Dodgers to their first World Series crown in 1955.

Answer: Jimmie Foxx

The others hit 50 in a season only once. Foxx hit 58 in 1932 with the Philadelphia Athletics, then hit another 50 in 1938 with the Red Sox. Jimmie also became the first player in history to hit 50 home runs in a season for two different teams.
7. Which of these baseball greats died first?

Answer: Dizzy Dean

Dean pitched with his brother "Daffy" on the 1934 Cardinals. Dean went 30-7 in that season, and was the last pitcher to win 30 games until Denny McLain of the Tigers in 1968. Dizzy died in 1974. The others all died between 2002 and 2004.

The Marlins went 92-70 in 1997, finishing second in the NL East behind the Braves. They defeated the Giants in the NLDS, the Braves in the NLCS, then the Indians in the World Series. The first World Series that had both teams enter as a Wildcard was in 2002 when the Angels met the Giants, and the Angels won it all.
9. In which year did Major League Baseball start presenting the Gold Glove Award for outstanding defensive play?

Answer: 1957

Outfielder Willie Mays began his streak of 12 Gold Gloves in 1957 with the Giants for the National League. Jim Kaat of the Twins and White Sox in the American League won 14 from 1962-1975 as a pitcher.

Answer: Warren Spahn

The others never donned a Braves uniform. Spahn won 363 career games, and 356 in a Braves uniform. Kid Nichols won 329 in the 1890s for the franchise. Phil Niekro who won 318 games overall, and 268 for the Braves. Greg Maddux won 194 for the team also.
