Answer: Milwaukee Brewers

In the name of Miller Park, the Brewers played their second season under the new name in 2002. Brewers still ranked 11 out of 16 teams, with a game attendance average of just over 24,000 fans.
2. What player had the nickname "Big Six"?

Answer: Christy Mathewson

Mathewson also had the nickname 'Matty'. 16 of his 17 seasons, he pitched with the Giants from 1900-1916. He won the Triple Crown twice in 1905 and 1908. This great pitcher was much overshadowed by other greats such as Walter Johnson, Cy Young, Grover Cleveland Alexander, and Charley Radbourn. Mathewson retired with 373 wins, and over 2500 strikeouts.

Dodger catcher John Roseboro wore the number 8, and Dodger pitcher Larry Sherry wore the 51 on his jersey. Subtracting number 20 of the Cardinal speedster Lou Brock, then the number 7 of Mantle, leaves you 32. Koufax's name speaks for itself.

Answer: Harry Steinfeldt

Frank Chance was the manager and played first base. Johnny Evers was the 2nd baseman, and Joe Tinker was the shortstop. Steinfeldt joined the club in 1906, after being traded from Cincinnati. This solidified the infield of the Chicago Cubs. Steinfeldt helped the infield and the Cubs, to 3 consecutive World Series appearances.

They lost to the White Sox in 1906, then defeated the Detroit Tigers in 1907 and 1908. Steinfeldt died 6 years later at the age of 36.
5. Who was the first pitcher to lose 2 complete games in one day?

Answer: Wiley Piatt

Piatt experienced a terrible day on June 25th, 1903, when pitching for the Boston Braves. He lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0, and then again 5-3 in the double-header. Piatt had a record of 9-14 in 1903, which was his last season of baseball. He pitched for only 6 seasons.
6. Which of the following was the first Major League umpire to wear glasses during a game?

Answer: Ed Rommell

These were all umpires, but Ed Rommell showed up to umpire wearing glasses on April 15th, 1956. At first the Yankees, and the Washington hometeam crowd thought it was a joke, but it was not. The teams set a record total of 62 walks in the game. Just kidding.
7. Which of the following players stole home twice in one game?

Answer: Joe Tinker

Tinker did this in 1910 on June 28th. This Chicago Cub shortstop stole only 20 bases in the entire season.
8. Who was the youngest player to hit a home run in the big leagues during the 20th century?

Answer: Tommy Brown

Tommy Brown played 46 games for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1944. Brown was a 17 year old high school student at the time. This backup shortstop popped the home run off Pittsburgh Pirate pitcher Preacher Roe on August 20th, 1945, less than 3 weeks after Brown's 17th birthday.
9. What team played their first season in Sicks Stadium?

Answer: Seattle Pilots

The Pilots (later Milwaukee Brewers) played their first game on April 11, 1969. Their last game was in October of the same season. The Pilots drew only 678,000 fans, who watched them finish last in the American League West, with a 64-98 record. It was their only season of existence.
10. Which of the following retired with over 3300 hits, and 700 steals throughout their career?

Answer: Eddie Collins

Eddie Collins nicknamed 'Cocky', played 25 seasons with the Philadelphia Athletics and the Chicago White Sox. His season-highs were 227 hits, and 81 stolen bases. He won the American League MVP in 1914, and retired in 1930 with 3315 hits, and 744 stolen bases.
