Derek Morgan continued to learn his craft as a player in Wales, but playing International Rugby for England. After retiring as a player he became a Selector for many seasons.
2. After losing the opening match in the Five Nations against England, Wales made six changes. Newport supplied the entire back row. Who replaced Haydn Morgan as Open Side Flanker?

Answer: G Whitson

There was also a new half back combination, with Onllwyn Brace as scrum half partnering Cliff Ashton as outside half. The last time the two had played together had been seven years earlier when Ashton had played Scrum Half and Brace Outside Half.
