Answer: 1910

Brighton were Southern League Champions and in those days were paired with the Football League Champions in the Charity Shield. Brighton beat Aston Villa 1-0 to win the shield.
3. In May 1997 Brighton got a 1-1 draw away to Hereford United which ensured their survival in the Football League. Who scored the vital goal?

Answer: Robbie Reinault

After a season at the foot of the table this draw saved the Albion and condemed Hereford to the Conference.
4. From whom did Brighton sign Andy Ritchie?

Answer: Manchester United

Andy had the unenviable task of replacing the legend Peter Ward. He scored 26 times in 102 games and was swapped for Terry Conner from Leeds United in March 1983 when the Albion were looking forward to their first ever FA Cup Semi-Final.
