Answer: Seattle

The Seattle SuperSonics joined the NBA in 1967 and won the league championship in the Pacific Northwest in 1979. Problems in securing a new arena led to the team relocating to Oklahoma City in 2008, where they decided on a new nickname, the Thunder. In 2012, they reached the NBA finals, where they lost to the Miami Heat.

Answer: Stillwater

Oklahoma State University (formerly known as Oklahoma A&M) was established in Stillwater in 1890. The Cowboys won the NCAA basketball title in 1945 and 1946 and baseball's College World Series in 1959. Famous alumni include football's Barry Sanders and golfer Rickie Fowler.

Jim Thorpe was born in Prague in 1887 in what at the time was still classified as Indian Territory. He won gold in both the decathlon and pentathlon at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. He played pro football for a number of teams, including the Canton Bulldogs and Oorang Indians.

He was a baseball outfielder, mostly with the New York Giants, and was part of a barnstorming basketball team known as the World Famous Indians.

The Oklahoma Outlaws were a USFL expansion team in 1984. Playing home games at Skelly Stadium in Tulsa, the team got off to a decent 6-2 start before losing their last 10 games. This was their only season in Oklahoma - they would merge with the Arizona Wranglers and play in Tempe in 1985.

The University of Tulsa was established in 1894 and adopted the Golden Hurricane nickname in 1922. They have been members of various conferences down the years, including Conference USA between 2005 and 2013. They joined the American Athletic Conference in July 2014. With a career total of 2,425 hits and 536 home runs, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1974.

The University of Oklahoma was founded in Norman in 1890. The Sooners have won national titles in a number of sports, including both men's and women's gymnastics. Bud Wilkinson was appointed head coach of the football team in 1947 and led them to national titles in 1950, 1955 and 1956. Between 1953 and 1957, they won 43 consecutive games.
