Water can be added inside and they call this a 'water ride'. Sphereing can be done at worldwide locations which include New Zealand, Australia, Canada, parts of Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Underwater hockey was invented in 1954. It involves two teams of six players, each wearing a snorkel, swim fins and a diving mask. The stick is approximately one foot long and the puck three pounds in weight. The winner is the team with the highest score after two 15-minute halves.

The game is played in countries such as Pakistan and Afghanistan. It involves two teams trying to get possession of a dead animal carcass, before lobbing it across the opposing team's goal. Another version is played in Europe and America where fabric covered sheep, or sheepskin covered balls, are used. A similar game is played in China, but the riders play on yak and not horseback.

A 7-8 pound 'Double Gloucester' cheese is hurled down a very steep hill. This is followed by people running, or tumbling, down the hill after it. The people are caught at the bottom of the hill by 'catchers' to avoid injury. During the 2009 championship, winners came from the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. Injuries to participants included two spinal and a dislocated shoulder. One unlucky spectator fell out of a tree.

The contest consists of 11 rounds starting with chess. The round of chess takes four minutes followed by a round of boxing which takes three minutes. This sport is also held in parts of America but the world championship is held once a year in Finland. The husband carries the wife over an obstacle course in the fastest possible time. The wife can belong to anyone as long as she is over 17 years old.

Two 60m long trenches are dug out of a peat bog and filled with water. Entrants wear snorkels and flippers, and swim along the trench in the fastest possible time. Imagine swimming through mud soup and you should get the picture!
