1. What year did Gold Coast first join the rugby league?

Answer: 1988

A milestone year for Rugby League. We welcomed three new teams to the comp', Brisbane Broncos, Newcastle Knights and Gold Coast Giants. It was also the year the Sydney Football Stadium was opened, and became league headquarters.
2. Gold Coast entered the competition as the Giants, and exited the competition as the Chargers. What name did they play under in between?

Answer: The Seagulls

The only team in league history to play under three different names! They were actually called the Gladiators for a brief period (just before the 1996 kick-off) but they never played under the name.
3. When did Gold Coast play its last season?

Answer: 1998

4. How many premierships did Gold Coast win, including reserve grade and under-21 titles?

Answer: 0

Not any unfortunately. The closest they came was in the 1997 premiership where they made the ARL's top seven. They beat Illawarra in their first ever semi-final, but were knocked out by the Roosters the following week. In 1998 they came a dismal 19th from 20 teams.

Answer: 6

Wally Lewis, Dale Shearer (both Australia), Brent Todd (NZ), Daryll Powell (England), plus Marcus Bai and Tom O'Reilly (both PNG).

Yep, they never beat the Western Reds, closest they came was a 14-14 draw, the other seven were losses.
