Answer: Hawthorn Hawks

Adelaide played its first official match against Hawthorn at Football Park. The Crows got off to the best possible start to their AFL life, smashing the eventual premiers by 86 points - 24.11 (155) to 9.15 (69) - in front of a crowd of 44,902.
2. Who was captain of the 1997 and 1998 premiership winning teams?

Answer: Mark Bickley

Mark Bickley successfully captained his 1997 and 1998 teams to victory against St. Kilda in 1997, and North Melbourne in 1998.
3. What happened when the Crows played the Port Adelaide Power in Round 12, 1992?

Answer: Port were not in the league in 1992

Port entered the league in 1997.
4. In 2005 and 2006, how many Crows have made the national team, which plays against Ireland?

Answer: 2

Andrew McLeod made the team in 2005 and became co-captain, and Graham Johncock made it in 2006.
5. Which Crows player won the Mark of the Year in 1993 and 1997?

Answer: Tony Modra

Tony Modra also made the All-Australian team in 1993 and 1997, and won the Coleman Medal in 1997 with 81 goals.
6. What was the main difference between the Crows home and away jerseys in 2006?

Answer: The away has a Crow on it

The home jumper was blue, red, and yellow stripes while the away jumper had similar design with the addition of the crow logo.

Bruce Abernethy wore it in 1991 and 1992, Scott Thompson wore it in 2005 and 2006, and Ronnie Burns wore it in 2003 and 2004. Rod Jameson wore no. 35.
8. Who was the first Crows player to reach 300 games?

Answer: Ben Hart

Ben Hart entered his 15th season and became the first player in Crows history to play 300 games. He achieved the feat in round two against West Coast, with the Crows unfortunately going down in front of a home crowd by just two points. He was later sacked after the 2006 season.
9. When did Adelaide win the preseason cup?

Answer: 2003

They beat Collingwood 104 to 73 in front of a 43,571 Telstra Dome crowd. Sadly, in the 2003 Premiership season, the Crows bombed out to Brisbane in the semi-final.
10. What ranking were the Crows in club membership numbers at the conclusion of the 2006 season?

Answer: 1st

In 2006, the club made history becoming the first club in VFL/AFL history to have more than 50,000 members. This is despite insufficient capacity to seat all members at games, and a waiting list.
