Answer: Five

From 1983 to 1988, Wade Boggs won five batting titles. He was placed third in 1984 behind two old Yankee favorites, Don Mattingly and Dave Winfield.
2. In Roger Clemens' MVP and Cy Young Award winning season of 1986, he led the AL in all but one of these categories.

Answer: Strikeouts

Although 1986 was one of Roger's most dominant seasons, he finished second in strikeouts, seven behind Mark Langston's 245.

Strangely enough, Boggs led the league in hits only once, in 1985 with 240. He placed second five times in his sox career behind the likes of Ripken, Mattingly, Puckett (twice) and Palmeiro.
