Answer: Nikolaj Ehlers (LW)

Nikolaj Ehlers was drafted sixth overall by the Mooseheads in the 2013 CHL Import Draft, having played with EHC Biel (Switzerland) the previous year. In his first year with the Mooseheads (2013-14) he had a record of 49 goals and 55 assists for a total of 104 points in 63 games. Born February 14, 1996, Ehlers was 18 years old at the time of his drafting by the Winnipeg Jets.

The four players listed as answer options were the Jets' first four picks; Danish Left Winger Nikolaj Ehlers (9th), American Defenseman Jack Glover (69th), American Centre Chase De Leo (99th), and Canadian Defenseman Nelson Nogier (101st). Rounding out their selections were American Forward Clinston Franklin (129th), Russian Centre Pavel Kraskovsky (164th), and American Forward Matt Ustaski (192nd).

Michael Frolik came to the Winnipeg Jets following a Stanley Cup win with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013. He was acquired for the Jets' third and fifth round picks in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. In his first year with the Jets, Frolik had 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points in 81 games. He followed up that performance by signing a one-year contract.

The multi-year deals were signed by Nikolaj Ehlers and Chris Thorburn, and Michael Hutchinson.

Things looked promising after the Jets 2.0 faced the Jets 1.0 (The Arizona Coyotes) and won with a decisive 6-2 victory. Things didn't go so well after that as the Jets proceeded to lose their next four in a row. In spite of their shaky start, the Jets managed to come out of the month of October with a 4-5-1 record, showing that they could come back from adversity - a theme that recurred throughout the season.

Answer: Dustin Byfuglien (D)

Dustin Byfuglien was part of Team Foligno, which lost to Team Toews by a score of 17 to 12. Byfuglien only managed one assist on a first-period goal (his second of the game) by Ryan Johansen (of the Columbia Blue Jackets). Johansen would go on to be named the MVP of the game.

Byfuglien first came to the Jets franchise when it was still the Atlanta Thrashers, traded from the Chicago Blackhawks in the summer of 2010. That year with the Thrashers (2010-11), he set franchise records for most goals by a defenseman (20) and most points by a defenseman (53), both records that he matched in later years with the Jets.

Olli Jokinen did not actually play for the Jets in the 2014-15 season, having been signed by the Nashville Predators as a free agent in the offseason. The trade was:

Stafford put together a point total of 4 goals and 7 assists (plus a shootout goal) for 11 points in the nine games between March 12th and 29th, helping the Jets to a 6-3 record during his streak. His nine-game point streak was the highest by any Jet during the 2014-15 season.

Answer: Andrew Ladd (LW)

This was the third time that Andrew Ladd took the scoring title for his team, the previous time being the shortened 2012-13 season, and once with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010-11. Ladd narrowly beat out linemate Blake Wheeler, who has been the top point-getter in the off years Ladd did not manage to do it.

The Winnipeg Jets finished the 2014-15 season with a franchise record 99 points and a record of 43-26-13. That was good enough to secure the second wildcard playoff berth, meaning that they had to face the division-leader that finished top in the Western Conference; in this case, the Anaheim Ducks.

The Pacific Division Ducks had an identical record (51-24-7 for 109 points) as that of the St. Louis Blues of the Central Division, but got the first-place spot by virtue of a better ROW (Regulation/Overtime Win) record.

The only previous time that the team made it to the playoffs in franchise history was in 2007 when they (the Atlanta Thrashers) faced the New York Rangers in the first round. At that time, the Thrashers lost the series in four straight games, with scores of 4-3, 2-1, 7-0 and 4-2.

Despite facing off against the number one team in the West, the hopes were high for the Winnipeg Jets in the 2015 NHL Playoffs. In the first three games they played against the Ducks, the Jets took the lead into the third period. But, in all three of those games, they couldn't hold on for a win. The Jets were swept in four games (4-2, 2-1, 5-4, 5-2), making their franchise playoff record a dismal 0-8.
