A dominating force in the early-to-mid 1990s, Icelander Magnús Ver Magnússon won the title in 1991, 1994, 1995, and 1996, and came second in 1992 and 1993.
2. Magnus Samuelsson

Answer: Sweden

Having finished third the previous year, Magnus Samuelsson claimed his one and only "World's Strongest Man" title in 1998, beating Jouko Ahola by an impressive six points.
3. Vasyl Virastyuk

Answer: Ukraine

Vasyl Virastyuk claimed the title of "Ukraine's Strongest Man" a total of six times during the 2000s. He competed in the "World's Strongest Man" competition twice, coming third in 2003, before winning the title the following year.
4. Brian Shaw

Answer: United States of America

Charismatic American Brian Shaw, who stands a whopping six feet eight inches tall, failed to make the finals in his first ever "World's Strongest Man" competition in 2008. He has since fared much better however, with a number of podium finishes, including four first places in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2016.
5. Geoff Capes

Answer: United Kingdom

Perhaps the most well-known British strongman of all-time, Geoff Capes was also an accomplished shot-putter, and won gold medals at both the 1974 and 1978 Commonwealth Games. His two "World's Strongest Man" titles came in the 1980s, during a fantastically entertaining rivalry with Icelander Jón Páll Sigmarsson.
6. Zydrūnas Savickas

Answer: Lithuania

Considered by many as the greatest strongman of all time, Lithuanian Zydrūnas Savickas, who is also a professional powerlifter, claimed seven consecutive first or second place finishes in the "World's Strongest Man" finals between 2009 and 2015, claiming the title on four of those occasions.
7. Svend Karlsen

Answer: Norway

Famous for shouting his catch phrase "Viking Power!" during competitions, Norwegian Svend Karlsen had three consecutive and improving podium finishes at the turn of the millennium, coming third in 1999, second in 2000, and first in 2001.
8. Jouko Ahola

Answer: Finland

Jouko Ahola competed in three "World's Strongest Man" finals in the late 1990s, winning the title in 1997 and 1999, and coming second in 1998. He retained ties with the contest after retiring from competition, acting as a judge and event organiser, and he has also forged a reasonable acting career, appearing in movies such as "Kingdom of Heaven" and "War of the Dead".
9. Ted van der Parre

Answer: Netherlands

Standing at a staggering seven feet tall, Ted van der Parre represented the Netherlands at three "World's Strongest Man" finals, finishing fourth in 1991, first in 1992, and eighth in 1994, when a calf injury forced him to drop out of the competition.
10. Mariusz Pudzianowski

Answer: Poland

Perhaps the most dominating force in "World's Strongest Man" history, Mariusz Pudzianowski won the title a total of five times during the 2000s. He retired from participating in strongman events in 2009 to pursue his career in Mixed Martial Arts.
