He received a degree in History at the University of Colorado and worked as a bartender, personal trainer, construction worker and bouncer before pursuing acting. He started his career in television on shows like '1st & Ten' and 'The Fanelli Boys', as well as being the voice of Spike on 'Dinosaurs' for three seasons.

He's appeared in such films as 'Junior' (1994), 'Twelve Monkeys' (1995) , 'Bound' (1996), the television miniseries 'Mario Puzo's The Last Don' (1997), 'Runaway Bride' (1990), 'Wet Hot American Summer' (2001), and 'Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle' (2004).

Mariska Magdolina Hargitay was born on January 23, 1964, in Los Angeles, California. Daughter of Mickey Hargitay and Jayne Mansfield, she is the youngest of their three children. In June 1967, she and her two brothers were asleep in the back seat of a car when it was involved in a fatal accident, instantly killing their mother. Amazingly, the three children escaped with minor injuries. Mariska went on to major in Theatre at UCLA, but soon dropped out.

Her movie debut came in 1985 playing Donna in 'Ghoulies'.

In 1997, she had a recurring role playing Cynthia Hooper on 'ER'. She also had a small part in 'Lake Placid' (1999) and was the lead in the Lifetime movie 'Plain Truth' (2004). Mariska is now married to frequent 'SVU' guest star Peter Hermann (Attorney Trevor Langan).

Richard Belzer was born on August 4, 1944, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. His mother, Frances, died of breast cancer when Richard was eighteen and his father, Charles, committed suicide when he was twenty-two. 'Belz' has had small roles in 'Fame' (1980), 'Scarface' (1983) and his cousin Henry Winkler's film 'Nightshift' (1982).

He's also been in 'North' (1994), 'The Puppet Masters' (1994) and 'Species II' (1998). Detective John Munch has appeared on 'Homicide: Life on the Street', 'Law & Order', 'The X Files', 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit', 'The Beat' and 'Law & Order: Trial By Jury'.

Tracy Marrow was born on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey. He attended Crenshaw High School in South Central, Los Angeles and served in the U.S. Army Rangers from 1979 to 1981. Tracy chose his pseudonym in honor of author Iceberg Slim, the pen name of Robert Maupin Beck III (1918-1992).

He became the subject of a national debate on the glorification of violence in the media when his group Body Count released the song 'Cop Killer'. Ironically, not only does he play Fin on 'SVU' but his big acting break was playing undercover cop Scotty Appleton in 'New Jack City'.

Although, he almost didn't accept the role, afraid that if it flopped it might affect his music career. He was eventually convinced and accepted the role. Since then he's appeared in the films 'Trespass' (1992), 'Surviving the Game' (1994), 'Tank Girl' (1995) and 'Johnny Mnemonic' (1995).

In 1997, he played Isaac 'Ice' Gregory on 'Law & Order' creator Dick Wolf's short lived series 'Players' and a year later he appeared as Seymour 'Kingston' Stockton in 'Exiled: A Law & Order Movie'. Wanting to work with Ice-T again, Wolf offered him the role of Munch's third partner, Odafin Tutuola in 2000.

Not sure about if he wanted to do another series, he agreed to do four episodes and has been on ever since. He can also be heard as the voice of Madd Dogg in the video game 'Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas'.

Dann Florek was born on May 1, 1950, in Flat Rock, Michigan. He majored in Math and Physics at Eastern Michigan University until a drama scholarship changed the course of his career direction and he trained at Juilliard. From 1988 until 1993, Dann had a recurring role on 'L.A. Law' as David Meyer, which he reprised for 2002's 'L.A. Law: The Movie'.

He's been in such films as 'Hard Rain' (1998), 'Beautiful Joe' (2000) and in 1994 he brought Mr. Slate to life in 'The Flintstones'. Prior to 'SVU' he originally played Captain Donald Cragen for three years on 'Law and Order' and then again in 1998 for 'Exiled: A Law & Order Movie'.

Bradley Darryl Wong was born on October 24, 1962, in San Francisco, California. Making his Broadway debut in 'M. Butterfly', he won Broadway's 1988 Tony Award for Best Actor (Featured Role - Play) for creating the role of Song Liling in 'M. Butterfly'. On television he's played Father Ray Mukada on 'Oz' and Stuart on 'All-American Girl'.

In 1994, he appeared as Dr. Wong, Judy Davis and Kevin Spacey's marriage counselor in 'The Ref', which starred Denis Leary. He's also been in 'Father of the Bride' (1991), 'Father of the Bride Part II' (1995), 'Seven Years in Tibet' (1997), 'The Substitute 2: School's Out' (1998), 'Stay' (2005) and 'Jurassic Park' (1993).

He's also lent his voice for the role of Shang in the 'Mulan' films.

He's worked with legendary cult film director Sam Raimi four times to date, starting with his portrayal of Frank Perry in 1999s 'For the Love of the Game'. He followed that up playing Sheriff Pearl Johnson in 'The Gift' (2000) and J. Jonah Jameson in 'Spider-Man' (2002) and 'Spider-Man 2' (2004).
