He stated that Harriet Cooper, who also resided at the place, noticed that Bruce had not slept in his bed the previous night. The Riddler used spray so Robin would awaken and then he told Robin to call police headquarters. Robin grabbed the phone, dialed up Commissioner Gordon's line and he picked up. On a hill up above, The Riddler and Molly, the latter of whom was disguised as Robin, watched Batman drive in the Batmobile. After the car crashed, Batman took "Robin" back to the Batcave and it was there when Molly took off her mask while holding him at gunpoint. Batman informed Molly that he knew she disguised herself as Robin the entire time and that he had removed the bullets from her gun. Molly climbed up onto a nuclear power source so Batman raced to save her but it was too late; she fell to her death.

Batman went to Gotham City Police headquarters in order to get Chief O'Hara and Commissioner Gordon's help with a recording he had. This tape played back the brief phone conversation Batman had with The Riddler when Robin shouted out something to Batman. Chief O'Hara commented on how poor this tape was since it consisted of many rumbling sounds making it difficult for them to trace the location of where Robin was being held.

However, they were eventually successful in tracing the location.
