The Prime Minister of Moldavia was about to slice up a cake several men brought out to him until a small explosion destroyed the food upon his initial cut. The police noticed a piece of paper immediately after the blast. Commissioner Gordon noticed that it was a riddle and that The Riddler was in town once more stirring up trouble. This initial clue read, "How is an orange like a bell?"

Alfred, Bruce Wayne's butler, answered the bat phone after it rung off and notified Commissioner Gordon that he would get Batman. Alfred interrupted Bruce's talk with a few friends by whispering to him that he had a call on the phone. To get out of his talk, Bruce claimed he had promised to take Dick out for a round of fishing that day.

Batman and Robin drove off to a location where they believed The Riddler was located. Right before they encountered him, they listened to a recording where their archenemy left them a clue related to men smoking on a boat. As the two crimefighters climbed a wall, they noticed The Riddler inside holding a gun on Mr. Peale.

Batman and Robin cornered The Riddler after it looked as if the man stole a cross from Mr. Peale at gunpoint. When Batman slapped on a pair of handcuffs, two men photographed the incident. This was when Mr. Peale claimed that the cross actually belonged to The Riddler and he was returning it to him.

The Riddler then handed Batman a piece of paper for a lawsuit in which he alleged he falsely arrested him. However, Robin was not named as a litigant in the suit.

Batman and Robin went to the Batcave in order to help them locate two additional riddles which The Riddler mentioned were located in the lawsuit paper he handed Batman. After Robin solved both riddles, they realized that they meant The Riddler would be located at Glover Avenue. Both of them immediately got into the Batmobile and proceeded there.

Batman and Robin went to a club at Glover Avenue where Batman entered alone since Robin was underage. He met Molly there and asked the bartender, Harry (Batman was unaware that both Molly and Harry worked for The Riddler), for a glass of orange juice. Shortly after Batman downed his orange juice, he and Molly began to dance until he collapsed on the floor.

This was when it was revealed that Harry slipped a drug into Batman's juice.

Robin noticed Batman falling down to the floor on his monitor in the Batmobile and got up to check on him. When he did, The Riddler shot a dart into Robin's arm, sedating him. He and his men picked up Robin and took him back to their hideout.
