Someone on the cheerleading squad suggested they take a break and have some milk from the nearby milk machine. When one of the cheerleaders deposited a couple coins to get some milk, out popped silver dollar coins instead of the drink. This happened every time someone deposited money into the machine.

Bruce took the call from Commissioner Gordon, who mentioned that it seemed as if The Joker was up to his nasty tricks again. Dick was not at Wayne Manor at the time so Bruce decided to go to Gotham City Police Headquarters alone. Before he headed off, he informed Alfred to tell Dick to simply stay put where he was.

When Batman was first seen at Gotham City Police Headquarters, Commissioner Gordon received a phone call from the principal of the high school, Mr. Schoolfield. He told Commissioner Gordon that another vending machine at the campus was going crazy since it dispensed stocks and bonds rather than candy bars. Batman then asked Mr. Schoolfield who the President of the Student Council was and Mr. Schoolfield told him it was Dick Grayson.

Midway through the episode, a man at a bistro put some money into a jukebox and then a recording of The Joker played. He mentioned this was a stick up and then the front of the machine flipped up to show a gun. Two of The Joker's men entered the place and stole money from the cash register.
