Mr. Faber was nothing like Booker. Booker was younger and very friendly. Faber was full of snide remarks and faux Southern charm. Fred Thompson was a senator for nine years in Tennessee, and also starred in "Days of Thunder", "Cape Fear", and four different "Law and Order" series as Arthur Branch.

Roseanne and the other women were all eating lunch when Faber first walked over. He singled out Crystal, calling her "blondie", and stating it was his job to handle safety hazards. She pointed out that they normally cleaned their work stations thoroughly after work was over. Faber said that because it was a safety hazard at present, it had to be cleaned right away. So, Roseanne offered to do it, and he tried to stop her from doing Crystal's job.

She did it anyway.

Faber commented to Roseanne that she had been a great worker in her eleven years, but had always had a bad attitude. He found her brand of humor to be disrespectful, but was clueless about his own condescending remarks. Roseanne was pushed to her limit with Faber, but remained scared to give her pension and health benefits.

His analogy was meant to make Roseanne understand that he wanted her to "tow the line". He said his brother owned a dairy farm, and that no matter how much a milk cow protested, it eventually gave milk like all the rest. Soon after these comments, Roseanne struck a deal with Faber to behave herself.

Faber wanted each worker to do 8,000 units a day to make himself look good. When they discussed their own production, the ladies agreed they could squeeze out 7,000 if they really hustled. After Roseanne agreed to behave, Faber lowered it from 8,000 to 6500, but not for long.

The ladies were in the Lobo commiserating on how badly they hated Faber and his new quota. Booker, played by George Clooney, was no longer the boss at Wellman's, but he still hung out with Roseanne and Jackie for a few more episodes.

Faber caught her chewing gum. He made her get rid of it, so she spit it into her plastic discard box as she was cleaning up. Roseanne had toned down her attitude at this point, and Faber was making her as miserable as he could.

Jackie was amazed when Roseanne immediately agreed to put towels into the men's room. The request was totally inappropriate, as Roseanne was not a housekeeping employee and it was not the women's restroom. But, Roseanne had sacrificed her dignity to keep their quota down to 6500 units.

Faber told Roseanne that once he "broke" her, he knew she was just like all employees. That was why he felt it was fine to up the quota back to 8,000 units. She'd had enough of Faber at this point, and punch out her time card. She told him she'd had enough of him, and that "stinking factory". Jackie followed Roseanne's example, then Vonda, Sylvia, and finally Crystal.

In the last scene, back at the Lobo, Crystal kept repeating, "I can't believe I quit".

Faber looked dismayed for the first time since the episode began. After Roseanne quit, Faber said it was a good act. But, when four more women followed suit, he knew his managerial skills would be called into question and production would be comprised for awhile. In season two, Roseanne's the last between herself, Jackie, Vonda and Crystal to get a job.
