Moses, born on November 17th, 1959 in Los Angeles, California landed the guest starring role of Blake Wilder for this episode of "Castle". At the crime scene, there were many peculiar things there but Richard and Kate could not explain one which they found. They came across a message written in the victim's blood that said "murder" with the final letter being either an "e" or "o" but tough to make out. Kate inquired on why a murderer would take the time to write a message using the victim's blood.

Richard and Kate spoke with someone named Blake who claimed that Damien, the victim, had stolen some books shortly before he was murdered. Richard speculated that the murder could have been over an issue unrelated to his theft. Javier then came in to announce that Damien phoned the police a few days prior to report a crime.

Tom Demming helped out in resolving the murder as well and had a suspicion that the one who killed Damien was one who had a huge collection of books just recently stolen. As Damien stole the books from someone named Lukas Canby, Tom made it his mission to connect Lukas to Damien's murder. Richard, however, hoped he would be able to solve the murder before Tom would, which caught Kevin's attention. Richard admitted that Kevin was right about his wanting to best Tom over resolving the case.

Richard spoke with someone who overheard numerous voicemail recordings to see if he could identify the woman who had a major fight with Damien. According to the witness, Lisa Jenkins was the one who fought with Damien the day of his murder. Richard and Kate immediately interviewed Lisa about what the witness claimed.

There was a homeless person who arrived at police headquarters to issue a statement about what he knew over Damien's murder. According to him, he saw Blake Wilder, Damien's cousin, near the motel room where Damien was killed, thus making him a possible suspect. Tom and Kate interviewed Blake about the guy's statement.

There was a woman who checked into the motel where Damien was murdered under the name "Scarlett O'Hara". The team found out that the person who checked "Scarlett" in was a motel clerk by the name of Benny. Kate located him in Atlantic City and had him brought to police headquarters for an interview.
