Billy was the first character to appear in this episode and it was in his first scene where he took a shower. We then saw Allison putting some bread in the toaster and then she went to go get the phone. It was Allison's mother on the other end and, as she got off the phone, Billy was out of the shower and going through the kitchen.

Allison got off the phone and Billy asked her if everything was going okay so Allison told him it was her mother on the other line. She said that her mother wanted her to come home to celebrate her dad's fiftieth birthday. Allison said how she told her mother at first how she would not be able to make it but then her mother convinced her to come.

Jane was with Kay in her first scene as they were walking down the street and Kay mentioned that she had to tell her landlord how she only had a dollar to pay in rent. Kay then blasted Jane for hinting to her landlord that she would not be able to make the rent so Jane apologized. Kay told Jane that she has now lost all credibility with her landlord.

Jane got a phone call that her grandmother had died so she went to tell Sydney the awful news. Sydney was throwing a party when Jane came by to tell her that she found out their grandma had died in her sleep. Sydney apologized to Jane since she knew how much Jane loved her and then she said she would not be a hypocrite since she believed her grandma did not love her. Jane told her grandma did love Sydney and she reached out to her on many occasions but Sydney shot back that her arms were not long enough to get past Jane.

Jo was taking some photos at a photo shoot down by the dock and then he went back by the coolers. Amanda complained to him about how she wanted three there and not two but Jake insisted two would be fine since having a third one meant people would trip on it. Jake asked her if it really made a difference and Amanda said it did.

Fielding had the small role of Mrs. Parker, Allison's mother, in this episode. Allison went home to celebrate her father's fiftieth birthday and that is where we saw Mrs. Parker. Fielding played the part of Mrs. Parker for a total of four episodes of "Melrose Place." She has also guest starred on the TV series', "St. Elsewhere", "T.J. Hooker" and "21 Jump Street."

Midway through the episode, Kay was meeting with someone who was interested in buying her business. She made him an offer but he turned her down and then Jane appeared and informed Kay how she bought the building. Kay was shocked and told Jane how she did not have the talent to make it on her own.

As Jane and Sydney's grandma died, her will was read in this episode. However, Michael also attended the reading since he and Sydney were married. When the will was read, the gentleman stated that the grandma left her estate to Michael and Jane but Jane stated that she and Michael had been divorced. Sydney suggested that Michael and Jane split the value of the estate in half but Jane said no to this while Michael said he wanted half of it.

Jo and Allison were talking at D&D Advertising while Allison looked at some photos that Jo took and she mentioned how her client would love them. Jo had also been seeing someone named Greg so Allison asked her what Greg was like. Jo replied that Greg was sweet and elegant and she really liked him. There was one scene in this episode where Jo and Greg had dinner at Shooters.
