Answer: Christopher Gartin

Gartin, born on January 12th, 1968 in New York City guest starred as Ted Ramsey, the maintenance man who Amanda hired to work at the apartment complex. Gartin played the part for two episodes of "Melrose Place." He has also had guest starring stints on the TV series', "Baywatch", "Crossing Jordan" and "NYPD Blue."

The episode opened up with Amanda in her bathing suit as she jumped into the pool. Amanda immediately screamed and started to swim towards the side of the pool to climb out. Jake was out there as well and she told him how she thought he had fixed the pool heater so he said he would fix it later.

At the beach house, Michael was just getting out of his room and Sydney told him that his breakfast was on the table. Michael said he was not hungry and had to get to work. Michael and Sydney then discussed his and Jane inheriting Jane's grandma's estate and he asked Sydney to find out information he could use to get his half of the estate, as he and Jane were divorced.

However, at the time of the will reading, Jane's grandma did not change it to reflect their divorce.

Amanda was in her office scheduling an interview for a maintenance man to come to the apartment complex to inquire about a job there. Jane came in and told Amanda she hoped she was not interrupting anything but Amanda said she was not and invited her in to talk. Jane asked Amanda for a loan to help her out with a business but Amanda said she did not loan her friends any money.

However, Jane said it would be more of an investment so Amanda advised Jane to take on a business partner.

Amanda went to Wilshire Memorial Hospital to talk to Michael so she had the nurse page him. Michael saw Amanda so she spoke to him about how Jane was contesting Michael's inheriting half of her grandmother's estate and therefore she had a business proposition for him.

She told Michael to be a business partner in Jane's new business by investing his share of the inheritance in Jane's company and therefore Jane would not contest the will. Michael told her they had a deal.

Midway through the episode, Allison had a frightening dream where she was in the basement to her home and she was crying out for someone to help her. She tried opening a door but it would not budge. Allison then cried for her dad to help her but he never showed up. Then, she was in a casket and that was when Allison woke up and realized it was just a dream.

Jake went to Amanda's apartment and encountered Ted the maintenance man instead so he asked him what he was doing there. He told him that he was repairing a window and Jake said she never mentioned anything to him about it.
