He'd figured out that Nancy and Peter were still seeing each other. He seemed both shocked and saddened when he next learned that she'd married Peter. She said that they were safe, but Conrad pointed out he had no ring on his finger. She explained their partnership shaded him with safety as well.

She didn't tell either man that they'd be meeting, so she admitted to them she was a liar. When Peter asked Conrad how he became Nancy's business partner, he sarcastically remarked with "My kid bit her kid at a karate tournament."
Conrad had always believed that Nancy meeting Peter was a set-up. Nancy couldn't figure it though, as Shane had bitten Peter's son. Interestingly enough, after the first couple of meetings, Peter's son has not been seen. Peter said he was divorced, but who knows? Peter told Conrad that he could trust him, since Nancy trusted him, and Conrad should trust her. He also explained if they kept their pot in one grow house, and immediately sold to just medical marijuana clubs, they'd be totally safe.
I am sure Peter could sense Conrad's affection for Nancy went beyond simple partnership, as he alluded that all would be well as long as he had Nancy.
