While the show intended to have the explosion in this episode, they eventually decided to begin the fourth season with the explosion. The reason they did it that way was due to the recent real life event of the Oklahoma City bombing and they did not want to be seen as being insensitive to that tragedy.

In the final scene, Michael and Sydney warned everyone to get away from the apartment complex since it was about to blow up. All the residents were out by the pool area so Kimberly told everyone that "it was not what it looks like." She then got out the detonator to all the bombs she planted around the complex and said "it's worse" before the episode ended.
