4.1 "Mother Thinks the Birds Are After Her" Quiz

Roy was asking about the grow house. Celia complained about the temperature, and how thirsty she was, and also how long it was taking. Roy flirted with her, and was extremely suggestive. Celia denied any knowledge of the marijuana in the house, and said she just wanted to make some extra money after Dean's accident. Typical Celia, to take no responsibility for her own actions.

Answer: because Nancy smelled like gas

Shane told his mom that the car smelled like gas, but Andy confirmed it was actually Nancy that smelled like gas. She agreed to drive alone in the van after Silas complained about it as well, and the three of them could finish the trip in her Prius. I could assume, as a user of gasoline, that if you smell like gas, then whatever you touch will smell like it for awhile as well. I conclude that her Prius probably smelled like gas at that point, so her logic was flawed.

Nancy told her family that they were going to visit "Bubbie" in Ren Mar. They pointed out that "Bubbie" (Judah and Andy's grandmother) hated Nancy. Nancy explained that the woman hated that Nancy wasn't Jewish, but it wasn't personal. Andy remarked that she hated Nancy as well as Nancy's religious affiliations. They were in for a small shock when they found "Bubbie".

She admitted to them that was the reason she smelled like gas. She said she assumed the fire would get to their home anyway, but this made sure it burned. I am unclear at this point if she did just for the whole new beginning aspect, or in addition was hoping for an insurance check to cover the loss. Knowing Nancy after three seasons, she was hoping for the insurance, but not counting on it.

Rad informed the gang that Bubbie didn't actually have a dog, though Nancy heard loud barking when she rang the bell. He demonstrated that it was a built in deterrent inside the doorbell.

His parents are divorced, and he wants to be an inventor and a robot builder when he grows up. That's how long I have been sitting here, waiting.. for you guys."

Dean told Doug that Celia told the DEA everything. He knew it because he knew her, and Sanjay became frightened of prison, so Isabelle suggested that they pin it on her mother. When Doug got up for his interrogation, Isabelle said to him "you know the name, use it." So, in turn each one pinned it on Celia and totally negated Nancy's involvement.

It was Sanjay who stated that Conrad and Heylia were long gone, and they'd never get it pinned on them.

And, she was the leading LASIK surgeon in the county, which had benefited Len as well. Nancy began eating something with a German name, which looked like cheesy potatoes to me, and he accused of her insulting Bubbie, who'd been in Auschwitz.

He asked what kind of monster she was, and Nancy replied "a terrible shikse monster here to terrorize your clan". She then told him to get over it already, as it been 20 years since she married Judah. Later he referred to Andy as "Not Judah".

Andy told her that it was before Judah and Nancy were serious, and that she had been wearing a silver sequin bowler hat in the pictures. She called Judah a bad name, and Andy concurred. It was Lenny that suggested he wasn't Andy's real dad, and that was why he always kept an emotional distance with his youngest child.
