Mackenzie Hart was rushed to the hospital, along with several others, after Kimberly blew up the apartment complex. Despite the doctor's best efforts, he could not revive her and she was pronounced dead. Jess and Jake struggled at a construction site and Jake shoved Jess off a scaffold in self defense. When he went to check on Jess, he realized he was dead.

Allison was seen being rushed into the hospital due to serious injuries from the explosion and the staff went to work on her. It was revealed that the explosion made Allison blind, which upset her for obvious reasons. Allison eventually regained her sight.

When we first saw Peter in this episode, he was helping wheel in Kimberly's gurney and he spoke to a nurse. He instructed her to go find a psychiatric consultant to handle Kimberly's case, as Kimberly caused the explosion so she needed psychiatric attention. This upset Brooke, as she commented on the fact that Kimberly should not be helped at all since she caused the explosion.

Midway through the episode, Peter spoke to Kimberly's doctor about her treatment so her doctor mentioned to him that Kimberly was in denial about causing the explosion at the apartment complex. Her doctor asked Peter to help them out due to his being Kimberly's colleague and he helped her out of the pool. Peter said he would see what he could do but he would like to visit Kimberly alone, which her doctor said would be okay.

Jane and Richard had some alone time so they spoke about Mackenzie's death and Richard blamed himself for her dying, saying she would still be alive had he not brought her to the apartment complex that night. Jane told him not to blame himself, as he could not have known what would happen. Jane then suggested they not publicize Mackenzie's death for the sake of Richard's business, which upset him.

Allison was seen wearing sunglasses in her hospital bed in one scene and she heard footsteps. Amanda told her it was her and she said she had brought Allison some flowers. Allison asked Amanda what she wanted so Amanda responded by saying she saw that Allison had some roses so she would put the roses she got her at the edge of the bed. Allison informed her she did not want them and she could take them to the nurses' station to give to someone else.

In one scene, Michael spoke with Kimberly's doctor regarding their history and alluded to the fact that Kimberly had been unstable for some time. Peter then entered the room and asked her doctor to let him and Michael have a word in private. Peter told Michael that he would not allow him to send Kimberly to the psychiatric hospital and that he would take care of Kimberly's hospital bills.

Billy and Brooke went on a business trip in this episode and he commented on how he had no idea D&D Advertising would get so many clients. Brooke told Billy how he handled the stresses of work well and that he should be put in a position of authority. Hayley then entered the room and chastised Billy for postponing his and Brooke's honeymoon for good.
