The episode began with Martha at the bank with Richard to discuss getting a loan in order to fix up her acting studio. The banker there informed her that the interest rate she was getting was quite good, considering her financial history. Martha still felt the interest was too high so the banker suggested that they could lower it if Richard cosigned. However, she insisted it be her loan.

As Richard was at the bank, he made a phone call to Kate to see if there was a case for them to resolve since he was bored being at the bank. Just then, several people came in to rob the place. Richard informed Kate as to what was going on so she had squad cars sent over to the bank.

Cops descended upon the bank before the robbers could get out so the robbers told the people inside the bank that they would get to know one another for a little while longer. While there, the captain involved discussed how he would get the hostages free and Kate informed him that her partner was in there. He then asked Kate to leave since he felt she was distracting him.

At one point, an officer told Kate that the person leading the plan to free the hostages wanted to speak to her. He blasted Kate for charming one of the robbers so then he told her it would now be best if she get involved. Kate informed him that she had zero training in hostage negotiations so he gave her a few pointers about it.

Javier and Kevin went over to a woman's apartment to talk to her since she had a connection with the robbers. When they got there, they were surprised to see that she had died. Javier looked at her body and noticed some markings around her neck so he said it was likely she died due to strangulation. Both of them wondered what was in her safety deposit box to cause this robbery.

Midway through the show, one of the hostages started to get up so one of the robbers started to get angry. The guy then collapsed onto the floor and started to have a seizure. Kate suggested that they send in a cop rather than a paramedic to help the guy with epilepsy so then she came up with the idea of dressing up as a paramedic. She went in disguised as a paramedic so the cops searched her and found no weapons. Kate wheeled the guy outside after strapping him onto a gurney.

Kate was on the phone with Javier and Kevin in one scene when they discussed Agnes' murder and how it connected to the robbery. Javier and Kevin did not know either so they mentioned how they were trying to locate some of her family to see if they knew.
