Jack decided to pay Ray, a relative of his, a visit in this episode so he went to go see him at the nursing home. He asked Ray if he would like to go down the hall to have a talk so Ray said anywhere but there was better. Jack asked Ray why he nearly ran away from the nursing home so Ray told him he could not stand living there anymore. Ray had a suitcase packed on his bed and he informed Jack about how he knew he would eventually get away. Jack said that, if Ray kept trying to escape, eventually he would be tossed out of the nursing home.

Ben instructed Jack to pick up Locke's body and take it to the airport, as he had been sidetracked. He informed Jack that the coffin was at Simon's Butcher Shop on the corner of Grand and Hayes. Jack asked Ben what happened to him but Ben refused to answer him and reiterated to Jack that he had to get the coffin. Jack went to the butcher shop and got John Locke's body.

Jack was at the airport talking to the ticket agent about transporting Locke's body onto the airplane and the agent asked him if there was any reason "Mr. Bentham" (Jack gave Locke that alias for the airport ride) was going to Guam. Jack simply said it was his wishes since he wanted to be buried there so the agent asked him who would receive Locke's body on arrival to Guam. Jack said he would be the recipient since he would be transporting the body in Guam.
